SMILEY SATURDAY - SPAMS

A lot of Bloggers hate spams and try to stop them by all means with word verifications, approvals, filters etc etc. I have nothing against spams I am rather very much amused.

The once in my comments are a little annoying not because of the text, but because of the length ! Usually it concerns people who care a lot about me and want to change my life and the world in general. They also try to safe me from hell which I think is very kind of them, although I love the heat.

This morning I found this very interesting comment on my blog ! As it was at least 10 cm (4 inch) long I only show you an extray. Isn't that interesting ? I only understood chinese, but I think it is chinese. Probably another friendly person who is concerned about my soul. Now I could also write something in my latin writing, which he probably wouldn't understand as I didn't understand his chinese, so I won't answer his poetry. But I wish him all the best and thank very much for his concern for me and the world's well being. More people like him should exist and our world would be better ! Don't you agree ??

My emails also are very nice, only good news ! I won 1 mill $ in a game I never played and 1 million £ in the british lottery. I suggested they send me the money on my PayPal account, unfortunately it hasn't arrived yet.

But not only I win, I also receive proposals from Princesses, rich widows or other persons with far too much money. Usually a dear person had died of cancer and left a big heritage.

Of course they contact me, the well known specialist for investments so that I can invest the money for them and get a big commission !

If it continues this way I will soon be the proud owner of a Rolls Royce, live in a castle and buy golden litter boxes for my cats.

SHOW & TELL - An invention

The whole week it was warm and sunny and I really didn't want to spent a lot of time inside, especially after this long winter. The garden furniture had been cleaned and I set up my outside office.

The only trouble was I couldn't see anything on the screen of my computer ! There was too much light.

I raked my brain to find something to protect my screen against the light so that I could see. Need is the mother of invention and I finally found a solution.

All I needed was a breakfast tray which was meant to be used in a bed, which looked like a little table. Around it I put a garbadge bag, because I needed something dark and in my household nothing is dark except the garbadge.

a closer look. It is just perfect. My little travel (baby) computer just fits in and I can sit outside and blog at the same time.

I am very satisfied with the result.

THURSDAY THIRTEEN - Quotes about politeness

more participants here

In my painting group we had a discussion about good manners and politeness. Everybody was complaining about the kids or young people today. The reason was that one of my classmates got a visit from overseas, a friend of a friend whom she had never seen. This person enjoyed the day with her very much, but didn't even invite her for a coffee or sent a little "Thank you" after she was home and this wasn't a teenager ! Apparently some adult people don't know either what politeness is, so how could they give a good example ?

I found 13 quotes about politeness

1. It is a part of good breeding that a man should be polite even to himself.

2. Ceremonies are different in every country, but true politeness is everywhere the same.

3. There is a politeness of the heart; this is closely allied to love.

4. politeness is a sine qua non of civilization.

5. Politeness smooths wrinkles.

6. One of the greatest victories you can gain over someone is to beat him at politeness.

7. Politeness is as much concerned in answering letters within a reasonable time, as it is in returning a bow, immediately.

8. Politeness is the flower of humanity.

9. True politeness is perfect ease and freedom. It simply consists in treating others just as you love to be treated yourself

10. Politeness is an easy virtue, costs little, and has great purchasing power.

11. Fine manners are like personal beauty,--a letter of credit everywhere.

12. There is nothing costs less than civility.

13. Politeness costs little and yields much.

FUN MONDAY - Dreams

Jil at The Adventures of Lil Mouse proposed to write about "Strange Dreams. Do you have any dreams, particularly recurrent ones that you feel no one else has?"

I used to have a period in my life where I had the most strangest dreams and nightmares, where I mixed up people I met when I was a child with people I actually knew. Especially during holidays I had the wildest and sometimes real funny dreams and always in color ( I couldn't dream without colors !) In the morning my family asked me what I had dreamed and laughed their heads off.

Now since a few years it is rather rare that I dream. I go to bed, read for a while and then sleep like a baby. But a few days ago I had a dream (of course not like a certain famous person)

I dreamed my cleaning lady, dear Janka, was on holidays and I had to vacuum the house. When I lifted up a carpet I found beetles, bugs, spiders, and other very ugly and horrible insects underneath. I screamed, dropped the vacuum cleaner and ran away. Now have you ever tried to run away in a dream ? You ran and ran and don't move a bit. You make terrible efforts to go further but you just stay on the same spot. It is just a terrible feeling, especially when you are persecuted !

Of course the next morning I had to laugh about this silly dream and all these disgusting critters had disappeared. The only critter was Rosie sitting on my stomac and looking at me with her huge eyes.

But maybe amongst you is a dream analyzer who can tell me what a terrible problem I have in my life ?
