BY EUROSTAR TO THE SOUTH EAST COAST OF ENGLAND

The Eurostar is really a very useful invention to connect the UK with the rest of the European continent. It drives you safely under the sea through a tunnel and 20 min later you are on the other side both ways. For people who want to visit London or the North of the UK it is really very, very practical and quick. It takes you exactly 3 h from Brussels to London, the train running at 300 km/h (186 mph) on a network of high-speed lines.

It only becomes an adventure when you want to go to the South East coast of England !

SHOW & TELL FRIDAY

More participants are here at Kelly's Show and tell Friday

Yesterday I came back from my 1 week holidays with my friends in Eastbourne and part of me is still there, so the only thing I have to show are some more pictures from Eastbourne's beach. Although it looks very hot and sunny, it was quite cool and very windy. But people love to walk along the sea front, it is very beautiful as you can see. There were a lot of mostly UK vacationers, but also a few Germans and even Italians.

more pictures are here

I didn't buy anything which I could show you, not even a little cat !

Eat kangaroo to 'save the planet'
Kangaroos could be good for the environment
Switching from beef to kangaroo burgers could significantly help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, says an Australian scientist. "Jump in mouth burgers", perhaps ? what next to keep us away from greenhouse gas emissions ? No green houses anymore ?

Nigerian advises against 86 wives
Mr Bello Abubakar says he does not go and find women, they come to him
Nigerian Mohammed Bello Abubakar, 84, has advised other men not to follow his example and marry 86 women. The former teacher and Muslim preacher, who lives in Niger State with his wives and at least 170 children, says he is able to cope only with the help of God.. Poor God, not only he has to resolve war, political, and private problems, now he also has to help Mr. Abubakar to cope with his 86 wives ! I feel deep sympathy !

Pet dogs can 'catch' human yawns

Yawning is known to be contagious in humans but now scientists have shown that pet dogs can catch a yawn, too. The copying activity suggests that canines are capable of empathising with people, say the researchers who recorded dogs' behaviour in lab tests.
Until now, only humans and their close primate relatives were thought to find yawning contagious. Ah ! that's why the scientists always need money ! Of course it is so important for all humans to know if when one yawns his dog yawns too ! For those who have a dog, please let me know if it's true !

Germany hails 'bullet-proof bra'
The underwear is being issued to female officers as part of their uniform
It is being dubbed the new "bullet-proof bra", a new kind of Wonderbra which could help protect thousands of women police officers here in Germany. Dozens of German policewomen have already tested the new bras and, after a two-month long trial, the underwear is being issued to officers as part of their uniform. What a nice invention ! I would have needed one when I was younger not to protect me from bullets but from men's hands !

PRINCE William is desperate to get a tattoo — but worries girlfriend Kate Middleton would think it was “chavvy”. Wills, 26, told Navy pals he wanted a huge inking on his back like England star David Beckham, who has a giant angel. But the Prince said he feared Kate, 26, would hit the roof.
Why ?? Because he can't show his naked back when he is wearing the crown ?? I am sure it wouldn't bother young girls !

FUN MONDAY

This week's question is : Show me your favourite photograph and tell me why it's your favourite. It can be one you've taken yourself or one someone else has taken, a snapshot or a more professional image. Is there a story behind it? Do you love it for the memories it gives or just because it's pleasing to the eye?

more at The Lurchers

That is a rather difficult challenge for me. I don't have especially favourite photographs. It depends on my mood. When I am on holidays somewhere my favourite pictures would be of this place of course. When I am at home it would be probably photos of my cats but as I am on holidays at the South East coast of England, I made a selection of my actual favourite photos.

WEEKLY WINNERS - LONDON

More participants here at Sarcastic Mom Weekly winners

Before I went on to my final holiday destination in Eastbourne, I stayed for a few hours in London where I hadn't been since 7 years. I decided to visit the Queen.

I approached the Buckhingham Palace and refrained myself from buying one of these "beautiful" crowns to wear for my next visit to a shopping mall !

Long before I arrived in front of the palace, a very long line of people queued up to buy an entrance tiquet to visit the palace.

You had to wait at least 2 hours to get finally in.

I prefered to stay outside and join the other tourists

The gates are decorated with beautiful emblems

and golden decorations on the top

This is the famous balconee from where the royal family waves to the crowd

and around the Albert memorial and the place around the palace

were hundreds and hundreds of tourists gathered from around the world. I heard all languages and from time to time even english.

It was nice for me to see this all again and smell the London air !
