It's sad to say but my world in our world is rather limited by the bad weather ! Instead of going out and see flowers and a starting spring, I am locked in like an inside cat because of rain, cold, wind, snow or all together. Yesterday we had the coldest day ever recorded in March -6° C to -14°C in the Ardennes ! (21 to 6.8 !)

The cats sit on the radiator and wait for better times to go out mouse hunting

I too wait and watch TV instead of photo hunting and visiting interesting places.

Of course I visit my friends and we are starring in the open fire, wishing to lay in the sun or at least sit outside.

And when mid March appeared and we were all hopeful to see the first signs of spring .... it snowed ! Not much but still to feel depressed !

Easter this year is on April's fool day and if we are "lucky" we can search for frozen eggs and chocolate. Fortunately the Easter Bunny has a fur coat !

And in other parts of the world it's too hot, too dry, and too stormy.

This post confirms that if you don't know what to write or talk about there is always one theme ! The weather ....

This weekend we had our monthly Facebook meeting "Vivre à Waterloo" and as usual it was very nice to see people life.

Meanwhile this group has more than 4000 members, who of course weren't all there, we were about 30 the others had probably the flu ! This time our "president" besides the "Carlsberg" sign had booked in the "Café de Paris".

It has been completely renovated and is now a restaurant too. You can eat the best steaks there, according to Nicole who is rather difficult when it comes to steaks.

Monique, Nicole and I had a beef Carpaccio, very thin slices of raw beef.  The beef is served with lemon, olive oil, and Parmesan cheese. It was absolutely delicious and I had never seen such a big portion in my whole life not even in Italy where it comes from.

The next day we went for breakfast to "La Brioche" for me it was not worthwhile because I am not hungry early mornings. So I just had a coffee and a croissant, while the two others had, scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, sausages, croissants, jam different sorts of bread etc. If you eat it all you are full for the whole day !

It is the only place in Waterloo where you can have breakfast from 6 am on. Otherwise you have to wait until 10 when the shops open, except the supermarkets which open at 9 ! Poor tourists who don't know and arrive hungry early morning in Waterloo to see the battle field ! I knew this place from afternoon teas, but had never been there in the morning. Useless to say that it was full.

It started to snow again and the temperature dropped more than a half during the night. With that a nice strong wind, I am freezing ! Even the cats didn't want to go out ! I wonder if this  winter will ever end or if we enter a new ice age !

This time our weekly scrabble was at Mireille's home.

Her dog Tosca had a surgery nothing very serious but has to wear this very elegant T-shirt, so she doesn't leak her wounds. Of course she took the opportunity to ask for cake, as she was soooo sick !
As usual we had a very nice afternoon.

Nicole is full of energy since our Egyptian holidays and wants to do a lot of changes in her apartment, and replace or repaint her furniture. So after lunch we went into a furniture store where she was looking for a cabinet with an built in bed ! These kind of cabinets you find easily in Germany or Holland because the rooms are so small but not in Belgium.

Something like this, because she has no extra bed for visitors and I told her if ever I have to spend a night at friends I couldn't even come and knock at her door ! Unfortunately we found nothing and probably have to go to Ikea, they are specialized in furniture for very small rooms.

Our aqua gym animator (a young man)  was in great shape, too much for us vintage ladies, so we asked him if he had taken some energy pills or drinks ! He replied that he doesn't need it but we do ! We had a lot of fun but the next day I realized that I had used muscles which apparently I don't move normally and it hurt a bit. Good for the health !

For the moment in our painting class quite a lot of students are missing. Two "girls" have cancer, and are absent of course  One is our teacher and with her there is no hope anymore and she is in palliative care. We are all very sad. She is such a sweet and nice lady and was such a good teacher. All we can do is call her and cheer her up. I only hope that the other will recover.

We have a roller coaster weather and therefore a lot of sick people. The flew came back and lots of people have bronchitis. The temperatures are zig zagging between 13°C and - 6° ! Each time when we think that winter is over it starts to freeze again !
Everybody is so fed up ! It seems so long this year.

1. Best place you've been lately?

Without any hesitation, in Hurghada Egypt !

2. What's something you should say yes to today? Or this week? Or even this year?

I would shout yes if somebody would propose me to return to Hurghada

3. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in any way, shape, or form? If so tell us how. In Western cultures the color green is typically associated with jealousy, nature, good luck, and growth. What's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word 'green'?

St. Patrick's Day is completely unknown in Belgium. The color green is considered as a "cold" color by painters and I don't like it at all for furniture, clothes, decorations etc,  but I love all greens in nature, woods, pastures, parks, gardens  .....

4. What's a product or service you love so much you'd happily be their spokesperson? Tell us what makes you such a fan.

I am a fan of nothing. I love something or not. I can defend a cause when I believe in it, even be their spokesperson, but nothing comes into my mind right now to answer this question.

5. March 14th is Pi Day. How are your math skills? What's the last thing you did that required math of any kind? And most importantly do you like pie? What's your favorite kind? With ice cream, whipped cream, or please hold the cream?

I never heard about a Pi day and for those who are in the same case as me I looked it up and found :

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. etc etc.

Celebrated around the world ???? I doubt about it very much ! and as I never bake pies, I don't have to calculate. Anyway I hate calculations and praise the day calculators had been invented !

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I need to do some shopping and think about what to buy. It rains cats and dogs and I wonder if  I will go or not.

Although I thought to know the old Hurghada very well as I have been so many times in this city, but I had never been in the Coptic Church. Amongst the Mosques it is the only Christian one.
